Loosing windows when switching desktops

Hi,
I have an annoying problem on my notebook (WinXP SP1). when I'm switching between virtual desktops all opened window explorer windows aren't displayed anymore. They are shown in the taskman but not on the screen, so i have to open some more and loose them some minutes later..
do u know this problem, and have a solution?
