input problem with xemacs 21.4.6

Anyone else having this problem and solution?
My setup is W2k + sp2 + windowsupdate fixes + latest (2.52.80) FlashDesktops and xemacs 21.4.6.
Every time I switch desktops I have to minimize and restore xemacs-window in order to get it to respond mouse or keyboard input. Buttons and menus respond but the text area is unresponsive.
