A good example of combining these techniques is the training of Russian Champion weightlifter Alexeev: Rather than do a pure max skill workout, as his trainers wished him to do, he began training himself, as he knew that he needed to bring up the mass of his weak body structures. He did this with lighter weights and higher reps. Although his specific exercises were not bodybuilding in the usual sense, the concept certainly was. The underlying point is that Alexeev succeeded because he understood excatly what it was he wanted to succeed -at-.
