And, keep in mind please the "once every 36 to 48 hours" timeframe is my overall opinion, and I base it solely on the fact that, all else being equal, training for muscle growth means training to the body's own avergae clock for protein synthesis is probably best. Studies have been done on this subject though and the general conclusions are benefits start to show at two times a week and are hit or miss for frequencies higher than that. I stick to the 3/week rule, every 48hours basically, for the above reason. If it is possible to have an overall summation effect of growth stimuli over time one has to stay ahead of the recovery curve and keep the body as anabolic as possible, not let it level out and then hit it again. This is of course assuming all other factors like neural recovery can be accomodated with such a schedule.
