How about balancing some soup cans up on top of your dumbbells? I'm sure you can find big enough ones at Costco or Sam's Club.
: Thanks Tim.
:
: I am aware of the platemate, but I AM cheap like you. Wrist
: weights are cheaper. I am guessing the magnets at home depot are
: even cheaper. Do they have magnets in the range of 2.5lbs? Can
: you weight them at the store?
:
: Thanks.

: Hey Geore. It should be. However, on the market you can buy
: these little magnetic discs, FractionalPlates, Platemates, etc
: in various smallweight sizes that will stick to your DB. Also,
: if you're real heap like me, you can go to the Homedepot, Lowes
: or other fix-it-yourself type store and get little magnets in
: various sizes.

: The DBs in my gym go up in increments of 5lbs. So whenever I
: increase the weight it's an increase of 10lbs total. I am
: thinking about getting wrist weights (2x2.5lbs) to allow for
: 5lbs incrememnts in total weight.
:
: Would wearing wrist weights on your wrist be the same as having
: a DB that is 2.5 lbs heavier?
