Instead of trying to lift heavy and slow, I'd go light and as fast as friggin' possible. Well, I never really benchmarked my progress. I've been continually playing basketball and though I can sense I'm better, there really is no pure definition of how much better I've gotten. Today, I decided to try out a punching bag and test out how fast and hard I could throw my punches. The power and quickness in my punches is unreal compared to what it used to be. I was giggling like a little school girl on how I was decimating the punching bag and my friend's gloved hand. From upper cuts to haymakers, everything felt stronger and tighter. And that's my story for today. Do explosive pushups if you want to increase your handspeed.

I've been doing explosive pushups for a while now, almost a year to this point. My goal, as an athelete, is to create strength and endurance, and have size and prettiness as an aftereffect. I had been doing vertical leap training previously, and in my experience, plyometrics were the key to gaining explosive muscle mass. Therefore I wanted to increase my handspeed for reaction time in basketball.
