: Hi,
:
: Ive been thinking of training each muscle once per week, hitting
: one muscle in one day, e.g one day for each of the following;
: Bis, tris, legs/abs, chest, back, shoulders (not thought about
: the order yet).
:
: The work load, in general, would be around 6 exercises per
: muscle, 3 sets of 10, the work outs will last about an hour.
:
: I would like to see some opinions on this?
:
: The reason im doing it is basically because I enjoy taking each
: muscle to the max. I can feel my muscles being able to take
: more abuse e.g 3 exercises (3 sets of 10), pushing them as hard
: as possible used to leave my bi's/tri's completely zapped of any
: energy. Now I always feel like I could do another couple of
: exercises. The emphasis is on upper body, i have always done
: legs and abs together and will just keep doing this.
:
: Thanks
:
I run a similar split for the last 17 years. I take one major muscle group and one assist group a night usual rotation giving it a workout about every 5-7 days. This is a typical bodybuilding routine that allows you to focus all your energy on that particular group. Dont forget to cycle your heavy and light workouts and alternate exercises to keep the muscles growing and to avoid injury from too much heavy weight lifting.
