A lot of them do use this type of eating (Dr. Serrano's here at EXRX) and the Berardi links I sent. For more nutritional questions, most of the guys over at Crossfit are athletes, police, firefighters, and military. They swear by the Zone (which is very similar to the above, but is in my opinion too full of "rulws"). They seem to thrive on it.

: Thanks everyone for the info. Just wondering, for an athlete do
: these diets seem like good choices. I am an aspiring pro athlete
: who is rehabing a knee. Although I stay as active as possible,
: working out 5 to 6 days a week,(doubling up 4 of those days). I
: haven't been able to do much as far as cardio and am looking to
: drop some body fat. I'm currently 265 and am farily lean, but
: carry most of my fat in my legs and hips. I really just want to
: find a diet to work with my workout regimen. I work very hard
: and my strength gains have been good. I'm attempting to
: maximize, maybe even gain a bit more mass, but stay as lean as
: possible. I ususally lift moderately to very heavy when doing
: core lifts. Suggestions?
