oddly enough, I bought a pair of microlimiters
my online buddy Matt Winegar (Primus,Faith no more, Ministry) tells me these things are the "poor mans 1176" uses them on friggin everything.
He sent me some MP3's of him setting up drums for "the real thing" crushing the #### out of them with the micros and I was sold
two microlimiters and a microgate racked up for $35, cant go wrong there
