eucalyptus seed germination is normally easy---the dust like seed that comes from the open pods/"gum nuts" should be sown on top of the soil (not covered) and kept warm (70 f.) and moist (not wet)and well-lit/good light intensity. normally germination should be within about 2 weeks or so for blue gum (and most other common species like camaldulensis, viminalis, leucoxylon, etc. for that matter). lower temps may slow germination significantly---but some seeds accidentally "sown" outside on the ashes of an old debris burn pile germinated without any help at all up here in oregon. hope this helps. good luck.
