has pink/red forms in both the typical form e. leucoxylon ssp. leucoxylon AND in the ssp. (or var.) macrocarpa. it's possible that leucoxylon may be slightly more frost hardy than sideroxylon. e. melliodora of roughly similar hardiness also has a "pink" flowered form in cultivation in Australia but don't now if it's available in north America as seed or plants.
