I went to the Kimberley district in NW Australia recently. It was a camping trip and we were always on the move, so I didn't have the chance to study any euc capsules. However, i did have a book on trees of the region, so I could deduce some species by appearance and/or location.
This one was certainly Corymbia collina in flower at Purnululu NP. It has striking silver foliage when the sun shines on it.
