i would assume you would have to know if there are particular kinds of eucalyptus that are preferred by the birds for whatever birds do with the branches. there are potentially several species that might do well in the willamette valley---gunnii, archeri, pauciflora ssp. niphophila, pauciflora ssp. debuezvillei, parvula, neglecta, urnigera, glaucescens,nova-anglica, dalrympleana are examples. the eucs you would get from california are likely different species but the ones i mentioned MIGHT be just as suitable but that might have to involve some trial (and error) or at least investigating what local bird owners want or need. hope this is of some help.
