thanks for the info. nicholii is gnerally hardy around here to BRIEF exposures around 15f. if hardened off. IMHO, the problem with many eucalyptus in the PNW is that they are often planted in lawns and then "benefit" from turf irrigation and fertilization which can lead to tender new growth which late fall/early winter frosts can damage or kill---perhaps analagous to weather conditions down your way???
