How do you think that my Eucalyptus are still alive ?

I failed that I planted hardly at the midsummer and my Eucalyptus withered. All the leaves have dried up and withered, but perhaps ligno-tuber might be alive. How do you think ? Are my Eucalyptus still alive ? ---Withered Eucalyptus E.Cinerea, E.Cordata, E.Kruseana, E.Viridis... They have no leaves, but they have admirable ligno-tuber. Now, it is autumn in Japan. Winter comes soon.
