a "simple" question to which there is no really simple answer---depends on what species you are growing to what purpose in what area. actually, assuming that the CLIMATE IS SUITABLE in the first place and you are just growing eucs for fun in most areas of the north america and europe, most eucs will do just fine with no additional fertilizer at all---i have eucs 9 years in the ground that are around 60' (19m) growing on nutrient poor acid soil on the oregon coast with no help whatsoever. areas with highly alkyline soil may need chelated iron supplements. if you are growing the trees as a bio-mass crop or maybe for firewood, young trees may benefit from supplimentation with a low nitrogen fertilizer. plants in containers may also benefit from very light fertilization but normally eucs grow so fast that they outgrow their containers very quickly and become root bound so great care must be excercised.
