you are correct---the name has been applied most commonly to the juvenile foliage e. cinerea and e. pulvrulenta but also (especially in california) to e. polyanthemos and sometimes even to gunnii and perriniana. in many ways the "dollar gum" name is not much help in finding out exactly what plant you really might have since the various plants vary greatly in utimate size, shape, and hardiness to cold.
