Thanks again. You are a wealth of info! I am, BTW, in agreement with you about the crepe myrtles. I just chose the example as a familiar one. I have seen many crepes terribly malformed after the 'pruning' they get. Much more lovely are the ones that are in my nieghbors yard and not 'professionally maintained'. I treat my two crepes gently and they reward me.
I would have a tough time wanting to take my eucalyptus down that small after three years of growth but I can see where it would work out to keep it in a juvenille leaf. I suppose that since they grow so quickly, it would be no issue. Thank you again for your help. I do appreciated it very much!
