My first question involves seedling plants. I am potting the seedlings from the flats into 1 gal. containers and I noticed the nodes (lignotubers???) that are sticking out about 3/4" above the soil line in the flats. Do I plant the seedings at the same level as they are now, or do I set them down to where the nodes are at soil level? It is these nodes that the plant appears to re-sprout when they re-grow.
The other question may involve just eucalypt edicate. I find that when I label the plants with their true common name (i.e. Cider Gum, etc.), when potential customers look at the label and see Gum the first thing they think about are Sweet Gum trees that grow here in the S.E. USA. When they see this they usually scoff and say, "Gum, I surely don't want a Gum," then they walk off! I thought that I would instead label them differently, for instance Cider Eucalyptus. Would this be proper edicate? Thank you.
