thanks for the reply and the advice regarding pruning
i will remove all the non growing twigs etc that you suggested, could i as well shorten the longer branches that you mention, virtually cutting them in half and letting the new shoots take over because these branches stem out nearly 1 metre if not more, or would this be too harsh and remove too many leaves and ruin it for the year
by the way if you've noticed the blue string it's where i had to splint the branch with bamboo to stop it snapping after the birds chewed into it
