Hi Gus
no problem about the delay, i'm grateful for the answer, i will leave it as it is for now, i will just cut the blackened areas back to the live parts just above a bud, i've given it a good feed with some miracle grow a couple of times since the root prune and i'm making sure the soil stays damp
looking forward to the the edited photos, please let me know when you have posted them
