go the the "hardy palm and subtropical board" click on "more information" link at top of page, a map of australia with USDA zones imposed upon it can be accessed by looking for the correct link toward the bottom of the "more info" page. basically, the very coldest and highest parts of the australian mountains are rated zone 7, slightly milder zones at somewhat lower elevations in tasmanian and southeastern australia are zone 8, while most of austrailia is zone 9 and warmer. climatic conditons are not exact matches and so the zones are at best approximations only.
