Sorry to hear about your tree, the same thing happened to mine. I had this beautiful Eucalyptus tree that was 6 years old, we had a wind storm 3 years ago and the tree aplit into fell and hang over the fence so the neighbor decided to cut it for their Christmas wreath without asking me first so ofcourse my tree died and I was very upset and had a few words with the neighbor. I had an 8ft dead trunk and like 6 months later I noticed that there were new growth around the base so I decided to cut that big dead trunk off and there was no problem. The new growth around the base were probably about 6 branches and they were all healthy and my family would come over to visit and commented on how beautiful my eucalyptus tree and my one sister wanted to cut some for her flower arrangement and I refused to cut my tree, so I thought everything was fine and then this last winter was pretty bad here in Washington State and I noticed that some of the leaves were turning brown I just thought because of the cold weather....but today we have sunshine! so I went out there to take a look and all the branches are all dead!! I am so very sad because I just love that tree....so I don't know if there going to be any new growth or my tree is dead and gone! Im thinking that the cold weather killed it. Good luck with your new Eucalyptus tree.
