I have a beautyful eucalyptus tree in my back yard, it was there when I moved in. Mysteriously one portion of the tree just up and died. It's one tree that split into two, one portion died while the other is alive. Neighbors admire the tree as they take their daily walks, and they've asked what happen? It appears there is new growth sprouting up from the ground next to it. The dead portion is an eye sore, what do you suppose killed it and is it safe to trim off the portion that died?
