Hi Gus
thanks very much for the reply, well the root pruning is done, all in all i removed about three quarters of the root ball, the roots were well and truly bound and it took ages to get it out of the planter, most of the roots ripped off when trying to get it out, but i'm hoping it's going to be ok
i've added a few pics of it as it is now, what do you think to me doing a general prune and how should i go about it, bearing in mind that i don't know where to start pruning and what to cut, looking at it there are quite a few dead branches where the frost has got to it, or have i to just leave it to recover after the root prune
thanks
Tee
