Very interesting study. I wonder if the oldest trees, 500 y/o ones as the study identifies them, which are suffering from loss of crown, decreased height, etc, could be rejuvenated in part by educated pruning.
What are the biggest and tallest Eucalyptus trees in the world outside Australia and NZ?? It is very difficult to have unmolested old trees in this day and age, because of the lumber nazis.....I hope Australia smartens up and reserves land for natural preservation.
BTW, I am back, after months of no internet connection.
