Yes, it is quite exciting! I will continue to document this specimen's growth. At the moment it's too soon to see if the laterals share the trifoliate pattern but, as Benoit pointed out, I'm guessing it's unlikely and that a return to the regular form will occur. That said, I'm hoping that the leader will continue in this way and perhaps result in an interesting truck structure and less 'open' adult tree... we shall see! And of course, you're more than welcome to use the photos I've posted and any others to come.
