Pierre, probably very good advice to follow with species like globulus planted in colder areas. the area where the original poster lives has benerally mild winters but every 10 years or so (if not more often) winter frosts are bad enough to kill or badly damage globulus and plants of similar hardiness---which is why you do not see any mature plants of that species in the area.
