You will have to struggle for the life of your globulus EVERY year ; in your
climate consider it as a perennial : cut it close to the ground and mulch it heavily BEFORE any hard freeze or , probably easier ,grow it from seed every year and put it in the garden in spring to enjoy juvenile leaves .Pierre
