even "hardy" eucs are very liable to damage or death if hard frosts come when they are actively growing (early or late in the growing season) and plants growing under increased water and fertilization (nursery conditions) are especially liable plus anything in containers is more likely to suffer damage than stuff in the ground. so you have a number of potential factors that can adversely effect your plants. the rumor is that frank is back in ohio at least emporarily and dealing with personal issues other than eucalyptus growing at the moment. hopefully, he will be back posting and growing soon (we miss him).
