At ANBG there are some large E. grandis, E. saligna, C. maculata and C. citriodora. I didn't enjoy seeing these trees there, even though they are nice specimens, because they spoilt my sense of what ought to be.
I don't know what the secret is, but I should point out that these trees are found nowhere else in Canberra.
On a different matter, the Friends of the gardens are worried about funding and the state of the gardens at present. Unlike other institutions such as the National Gallery and National Library, they are funded though a general department rather than having their own specific funding.
