Ah--interesting they have Archontophoenix in their botanic gardens! I only saw a few palms when I was in Canberra (though I didn't go to the gardens). I went through that city fairly fast since I was headed for Kosciusko which of course have the snow gums--yet there were a lot of one type of shrubby Callistemon planted in nearby Threadbo, despite the snowfall that they get there (at least I think they get some decent snowfall even at the bottom of the valley).
