first you need to determine if you have flower buds instead of seed capsules---obviously if you saw flowers last year some time then they are capsules. if they are indeed capsules you will need to wait several months until they turn brown to brownish grey---at that time take them from the tree and put them in a paper sack and place the sack in a warm dry place. in about 2 weeks the capsules should open and shed the dust like seed which can then be sown on top (do not cover) of a moist seed starting medium type "soil" and kept warm and moist until germination which generally takes about a month or less. or you can store the seed in a sealed container until next spring to sow then.
