Classifying eucalypts is very intricate. For instance,according to Brooker & Kleinig, E. maidenii would be classified as follows:
Subgenus: Symphomyrtus
Section: Maidenaria
Subsection: Euryotae
Series: Globulares
Subseries: Euglobulares
E. bicostata is also in all of the above categories.
E. cypellocarpa is in the same series but a different subseries.
E. badjensis is in the same subsection but a different series.
E. mannifera is in the same section but a different subsection.
