Do you fertilize with a slow-release type fertilizer? Last year, I only used a very diluted liquid fertilizer since the drought was so bad in my area. My trees are more on the order of 8 ft in 3 years for growth rate. Maybe I just have slower growing varieties. Eucs are unusally variable in this regard as you indicated.
