Hi all,
I know it's been a little over a month since I have updated everyone and I am sorry about that but that's what I get for focusing so much on my foot. lol
It's now been 15 weeks since my surgery and I am doing much better with my walking although I am still having some issues with the post-op tenderness especially around my toe. Of course I know that will go away soon. My fibro is also still quiet which is wonderful. I don't know how long this will last so am continuing to enjoy this as much as I possibly can. Even though I am doing better with my walking I still feel a bit like a penguin but thankfully more like a human.
I've also been making sure to work my ankle as far as exercises in order to keep it flexible to work out that stiffness. About 2 weeks or so ago I forgot to do them for 3 days and when I did that I felt more of the stiffness come back.
Thankfully I don't have to see my doctor again til Nov 5th unless something else happens like I thought I did when I started trying to wear my shoe a little bit every day. (Yes, my Crocs and my Crocs only right now around the house and my boot for outside) but as of the last visit which over a month ago I have to say that he's very pleased with the results as am I.
Shortly after this surgery I had my doubts as to whether or not I should have had the surgery but when I saw what it did for my fibro and how I am walking now (although I still have a long way to go) I'm glad I did it. I just have to remember to be patient about my recovery process which means (and I am ok with this) that I can't try for a job right now. It's also going to be a good thing for another reason: getting my sinuses tended to after I get all my questions answered. That won't be til the end of the month.
In the mean time I am trying to get in to a Urologist that can tell me if my pubic bone pain that has been quiet most of the year as a result of the Zoladex (I am not doing the Zoladex for my endo this time which is why I have been on it most of the year, and yes my doctor has been watching me closely) is because of my bladder or not. So I am hoping to be able to get in to a Urologist before the end of the year so I can find out one way or another what is going on there. If it's not bladder related then I will need to talk to a GI doctor about it when I am ready to tend to my hemorrhoid to see if they can help figure this out. If not, then I will have to have a longer talk with my Podiatrist to see if he can help me figure this out since I am also concerned about the possibility of RSD (a chronic pain condition) and have been for a number of years.
My mom is also doing pretty good although she did have a scare several weekends ago and it turned out to be just a pulled muscle. The Pain Management doctor treated the problem and she's doing better. She's also doing good on the breast cancer front when it came to her check up but now she has to have some other tests done just to make sure it stays that way.
We got some rain yesterday that was much needed so hopefully my flowers will be happy with that, and we have about another month to go in the Hurricane season until next year.
Well, I am going to close now but I hope that everyone is having a fairly ok week and I will talk to you all soon.
Kristy
