Hi All,
I hope you are all doing ok and having a good week.
Things are finally picking up for me since my lap in June. The pain has really settled and apart from my period arriving this morning unexpectedly (I am still taking the pill) the pain has been really settled over the last week or so and I finally feel the operation is helping. It was a tough few weeks post op with post op infections etc. I had a virus last week so felt rotten but had to carry on at work and by the weekend felt alot better so hopefully I am on the mend from that now too, I am guessing the virus was a result of being run down after the op.
I just wanted to explain that I wont be around much over the next few weeks. I finish my job as a Nanny this Thursday so only have 2 days left, tomorrow and thursday, thursday will be very quiet as the little boy I nanny goes to nursery on a Thursday morning so tomorrow is my last proper day with him. It is going to be very sad leaving, the little boy I nanny is gorgeous and seems very settled with me now looking after him and his parents are really lovely and have really made my job for the last 6 months a great time. I am sure we will stay in touch but it is still going to be really tough leaving but I know I am doing the right thing.
My boyfriend and I are then off to Turkey on Friday evening for 8 nights which I am SOOOO looking forward too! It will be really lovely to get away for a week together on our own and flop out in the sun and relax. I cant wait, I have been like a child and telling James how many sleeps we have left until we go!!! We get back on Saturday the 23rd August.
It is then the time I have been working towards since last October! I have a week after I get back from Turkey to pack and get myself organised to return to uni to do my final year of my nurses training which is very exciting but scarey. I am very nervous about going back mainly because I go straight into a 12 week placement and I have been away for nearly a year so it seems very daunting but I am very excited about going back as I have really missed it and I am looking forward to my final year. This time next year I will hopefully be nearly qualified!
I met my new tutor yesterday who is really lovely, she answered lots of questions for me as the syllabus has changed alot. She is also going to email the sister on the ward that I am starting at on the 1st September to explain I have been away for a year as it is really daunting going to placement straight away after not working on a ward since last summer. I also had a call from occupational health yesterday after seein my tutor and I have been cleared by occy health that I am fit to return to uni which is great.
So I move back to uni on the 30th August and start back on the 1st September!
I will log on when I get back from Turkey and try and post before I start back but I will be busy packing when I get home from holiday. I should have the internet in my room at uni so should be able to get online more often that I was able to in my previous years at uni.
