Hi all,
It's been a few weeks now since I've posted an update but thought I would go ahead and send another update.
It's been almost 6 weeks since I started breaking in the orthotics and although I still hate them with a passion it's gotten a bit easier. Only thing is that it has been messing with my fibro on several occasions. The other thing now is that I'm going to have to plan for surgery on my right ankle to help the Achilles tendon there as it is so tight. The reason that this tendon gets tight is because in addition to my other medical problems like the endo and fibro I have Cerebral Palsy.
One of the things that Cerebral Palsy does is causes something called contractures and it can occur with tendons, muscles, and ligaments. This ties in with spascicity.
Even though I've been doing my best to stretch that tendon (which has not been easy) it is such a thing that it's so tight that I can't avoid the surgery. I'm hoping to get that done in June because we have a special meeting coming up in May that I need to make sure mom gets to around the middle of May.
I am now awaiting the follow-up appt with my ENT (have that set up for the 22nd) to see what's going on with that ultrasound of my thyroid. I had told my Pain Management doctor that I asked the ENT to help with this in the mean time. She didn't like that but I don't care. I need to do it this way since I know now thanks to the explanation from the ENT that the thyroid can create issues with the ENT area too sometimes. Then depending on what she finds I will go ahead with the endocrinologist if necessary.
Other than that I'm doing my best to hang in there. Right now the weather has gotten a bit cooler again. I kind of knew it would though but we should be starting to get to where we need to stay for the usual weather during this part of the month.
I hope that everyone has a good rest of the week and look forward to hearing from you again as you are able.
Kristy
