Hi all,
It's been over a month since I've posted an update but I've been doing my best to hang in there while at the same time tending to myself.
Since my last update I have found out that I need orthotics (these are special inserts that go in to the shoes) so the podiatrist had them made for me, the one for the right foot has a lift built in to it so these past several weeks I've been trying to break them in. I have to tell you that I truly hate these things (that may never change but we'll see) but I'm going to try my best with them so that I don't face a situation with my feet especially on the right one where I might need to wear a brace to correct the problem. One of the other issues with my feet had to do with calluses on my left foot and the podiatrist gave me a cream to help with that and my foot looks much better than it did. I go back for the next follow-up next week so that he can see how I'm doing with the orthotics. Going to ask how much longer he needs for me to let the nail on one of my toes on my left foot to grow before we can see what kind of a fungus I have going on there (another reason I went to the Podiatrist).
I also saw the ENT on the 25th and really like her a lot. Had to have a CT Scan of my sinuses and thankfully I am doing better with my sinuses by just being back on my medication and had a follow up with her on the 24th and asked her about how thyroid problems relate to ENT so asked if she would be willing to help me figure out if I really need an endocrinologist for this aspect or not and she said sure. So I'm finally going to have a test done I should have had done in 2005 but didn't thanks to a mess up because of not getting the message due to an issue with the phone company we had at the time. So am waiting to hear when that will be done.
I also have the follow-up ultrasound to check on the cyst that was found back in Feb. I have the follow-up ultrasound next week but I have to tell you that in that time I feel like this thing has grown instead of getting smaller and dissolving on its own. And it hasn't ruptured either.
So while I wait to see how much the ENT can help me with the thyroid issue I'm going to start my focus on getting to either a GI doctor or preferably a proctologist to tend to a hemorrhoid I have.
Other than that I'm hanging in there and contending with flares of my fibro as they come up.
Mom is now 5 months post-op from her breast cancer surgery and doing good and is also doing good with the treatment choice she made for her cancer and she's been on that treatment almost 2 months.
Have a good rest of the week everyone.
Kristy
