Hi all,
Sorry that I've not posted in a good while but that's because a lot has been going on with a mixture of fibro flares and other health issues, taking care of mom to make sure that she has been recovering well from her surgery of which she has. So much so that since making a decision about a treatment that she has felt would be best for her she has now told me to focus on myself and getting myself tended to. During all this time I've been researching doctors to see in which order the specialists I need to see has to be in when it comes to the issue of priority.
Unfortunately I had to add a new one to the list (was not in the plans just yet) thanks to a discovery made by my Pain Management doctor when she told me the results of my MRI from Jan (this was done in the sit up position instead of the traditional lying down position). She made a recommendation about a lift (turned out it wasn't quite a lift as I thought after doing some additional research) that I couldn't find in the store. So after I found out what I needed to find out from the store I went to consult a podiatrist and saw him on Wed. It went well but it turns out I have more problems with my right foot than I thought. It is something that relates to my issues since childhood when it comes to the neurologic aspect. He is going to try and help balance me out. One thing I did find out though is that the big toe on my right foot goes back a bit. He said that he could correct it surgically and told me how. That was just part of how the visit went. I also have to stretch the tendon I had surgery on almost 30 years ago to see if it will loosen up although he said I will need the surgery again, but not now. Thank goodness for that. I am supposed to go back to him in 3 weeks for follow-up.
I have an appt set up to see ENT for the 25th so I can tend to my sinuses next, and then I see my rheumatologist on the 26th, and one of my other doctors on the 29th.
And then I will now start working on finding a urologist to tend to checking my bladder, and a GI doctor for my bowel to make sure something more than my IBS and this hemorrhoid I have isn't going on.
This thing of tending to myself (after mom said "go") was to start with my most obvious issue: the gyn issues. A few weeks ago I started to feel a mass on one of my ovaries. So i called my gyn's office to tell them about what's been going on with that and had an ultrasound done last week (soon to be two weeks on Thurs) and the result comes back showing that I do indeed have a cyst on my ovary. So I have another ultrasound in about 6 weeks to see if this cyst: a simple cyst dissolves on its own.
Other than that I'm hanging in there and mom is doing pretty good.
I will try to write again soon to let you all know how I'm doing then.
Kristy
