Hi all,

Sorry that I've not been around for some time but wanted to drop a line to let you all know I'm hanging in there.

Most of the last several months it was making sure to research all our options to try and avoid the surgery recommended to mom by the doctors and that included making sure that the diagnosis of breast cancer was correct. Unfortunately it was correct. It was confirmed by Mayo Clinic. So she had the mastectomy 2 weeks ago and is doing very well with her recovery. One drain is now gone and we are hoping the second drain will be gone next week when we go back to the surgeon. Also next week she meets with the medical oncologist (the doctors that give the chemotherapy regimens) to see what kind of options she has as far as chemo if she decides to do this (as of now she has decided she doesn't want to because she doesn't want to put up with the side effects and I don't blame her one bit.

So we'll see what happens next week.

My fibro has acted up over the last couple weeks both because of having to get up early twice the week that mom had surgery but the weather too in part because of Noel. I'm slowly coming out of my fibro flare though and just doing my best to take it one day at a time.

I will try to write again soon but wanted to let you all know how things were going here.

And Kendra, congrats hon. I will try to write you soon with more information.
