Posted by Olivia I hope everyone is doing well and sorry I haven't been around much. Anyways....a week ago..(last Tuesday)...I went into work not feeling that well. I had taken an evening nap before going in and the second I woke up..I knew I wasn't feeling that well but it was too late to call in. So..I went into work and was feeling extremely ill there. I had the cold sweats, was dizzy, nauseated, my blood pressure was up a bit, and my heart rate was as high as 150 when standing up. I told the supervisor I didn't feel good and she wanted to send me home but wanted me to run over to OB quick and check on baby before going. I wasn't feeling any contractions at all...so I thought it would be a quick trip over there. I got over there...the nurse hooked me up and I was having pretty decent contractions that were coming every two minutes like clock work and lasting a minute each. When she told me that..I freaked out....I did not want to be sent away again...bahhhh. But..I went with the flow and she did a cervical check......I was found to be 3cm dilated and 80 some percent effaced. I freaked out!!! I called Steve (at 2am..lol)...and he came in to be with me. Andrea...(the nurse)...called my Dr and he ordered IV fluids and a dose of Terbutaline to slow the contractions...and said he would be in with morning rounds. The first dose of Terbutaline worked for about an hour and then the contractions came back...so I got a second dose. By the time my doc got there things had slowed again so he decided to just watch me that day...and started me on Nifedipine which is a b/p med...but it's also great at slowing uterine contractions...I'm taking that every 6 hours around the clock. I stayed until about 6pm and then he told me i could go home..(my cervix hadn't changed from three). He put me on modified bedrest until tomorrow night...then I go back to work. I will be 37 weeks on Saturday...so he figures if I go into labor..it won't matter cause i'll be close enough to full term by then. I had another u/s while in the hospital and at 35 plus weeks...lil babes was measuring 6lbs 8oz....so he's still a hefty boy..lol. So..I don't know how much longer I'll be able to go on...lol. I'd really like to make it til Oct. 10th at least.....that would only be 10 days before my real due date...so lil "claude" Ok...I've babbled on way too long...sorry. Hi my dear friends, 
should be really good to go by then hopefully. My cousin gets married on the 6th and our last childbirth class isn't til the 8th..lol. Also..if he waits til at least the 10th...I can be off on leave thru new years..which would be nice. It's sad..but that was a fear about having him too early..I'd have to be back to work right before x-mas...that would be devastating..I'm already dreading going back and leaving him...but to do it right before x=mas would be exceptionally hard. I just pray for a happy and healthy little boy...I can't wait to meet him!!
