Posted by Olivia Hi ladies... I won't get super detailed because I'm totally exhausted...but just wanted to share my little PTL scare. Sunday night..I was getting ready for work and started having some "diarrhea type" cramping...with no diarrhea. The cramps were pretty bad...so I called work..told them I would be a little late and just chilled at home for a minute. The cramps lessened so I headed off to work...(mind you I work at a hospital as a nurse A few hours when by and I didn't feel any better...I started getting really anxious and couldn't sit still...so i thought I would just casually walk over to OB to see what my nurse friends over there thought. Well...she immediately wanted to put me on the monitor....so I agreed..still not thinking much of it. She put me on and I immediately started having mild contractions...some as close as 1.5 minutes apart. Luckily my doc was working ER so he came down....thought it was possibly dehydration and gave me a fluid bolus thinking that would stop the contractions...well after a bolus of fluids and a million pee trips later...I was still contracting....so they went ahead with the Terbut. shots...(boy does that make you feel crappy). My doctor then did a exam and saw some cervical bleeding and possible tissue....he called in the OB/GYN and he did an exam and said I was one cm dilated and 50% effaced. At 32 weeks..they didn't feel comfortable keeping me cause we have no NICU........so they decided to send me via ambulance to Rochester, MN...Mayo...which is about 1.5 hours from home. Immediately I started balling...I have never been so scared in my life!!! My hubby was great...got some things together and met me in Rochester. Right before I left they had started a mag sulfate drip........i got to rochester and they stopped all the meds and just let me go on my own to see what would happen. My contractions slowed to about one every nine minutes..they did some other tests including a really detailed u/s. The doc is estimating lil boys weight at 5 pounds 4 ounces.....and he has hair already!!! So anyways..they kept me overnight and this am...my cervix hadn't changed...was still at one and my contractions have slowed considerably. The doc there said you can have contractions til you are blue in the face...but it's the cervical change that they watch the closest. So...they sent me home on bedrest til Sunday...and i have a follow up appt. with my home town doc tomorrow. Ok..this is ultra long...I am so sorry. I hope things will turn out for us..please keep us in your thoughts Luv

Hi ladies...I'm home now but am exhausted..so I'm just copying and pasting a message I posted to my birth forum...I'll write more when I'm up to it....please keep baby, steve, and I in your prayers.... 
Anyways...once there...I wasn't feeling well at all....I felt feverish, blahhh, and I kept having tightening back squeezing...which I originally thought were BH's contractions. 
The baby never skipped a beat the whole way thru....his heartrate was beautiful and he looks great on u/s. I felt so relieved after that. They said if I can make it another month....i should be in the clear. Oh yeah...they inform me now that my 'official due date" is the 20th and has been for quite some time..no one ever told us the updated date....I know it's only four days difference...but it would be nice to know..lol. Ok..again..sorry it's so long....just want to use this as a tool for others too....if you just don't feel right...get it checked out!!!! I went from working one minute to being transferred by ambulance the next...and I didn't even feel that terrible...just sick, anxious, and "different". Ok..take care ladies..
