Now Playing: Beautiful Times

Posted by Jacqui P I hope you are all doing ok. (((Hugs))) for anyone who needs them! I am sorry I have not been around for the last few weeks. I have been on placement at uni and so have not had any chance really to get to the libary or back to my parents to use the internet. I finished placement last Tuesday and passed the placement with a really good final report. This was a huge relief as I had a hard time settling into this placement at the begining of July and really was not enjoying it when I first started. After a couple of weeks I seemed to settle in though and my confidence got alot better and the time on the ward flew by (I am training to be a childrens nurse). I was unsure about my mentors at first but them and the other staff I was mainly working with ended up being lovely and very supportive. When I left on tuesday my Mentor was so encouraging and was so pleased with how I had done on the placement and gave me such a positive final report so I came away finishing this placement feeling really positive about it. I am now on a week study leave as I have an exam on wednesday! After wednesday I am on annual leave until the 10th September which I am sooooo ready for! My boyfriend and I have just booked to go on holiday on friday (31st August) for a week, we have booked to go to Bulgaria and I am sooooo excited! I am so ready for a holiday to rest, flop in the sun and have some fun. Endowise I had been doing so well since my last operation in February. However, 3 weeks ago I was on nights and started with dreadful pain on my left side of my pelvis. This pain didnt ease and just seemed to continue to get worse. Last week was horrendous, I went and saw my Gynea who scanned me and found free fluid on the left side of my pelvis. He said to see how I went over the next couple of days and to phone him 2 days later, he suspected that I had a burst cyst which had caused the pain and free fluid. I phoned him 2 days later and was still in a mess with the pain, he arranged for me to have a vaginal scan which showed no cyst or fluid but I have something on the back of my womb. My Gynea suspects this is endo and that it is inflammed and bleeding which is causing the awful pain. We are both hoping it will settle. At the begining of this week I had a couple of days where the pain was slightly more bearable but then wednesday and yesterday the pain felt worse again. Well I have been awake alot of the night in agony. The pain on left side of my pelvis, side and back is awful. I feel absolutely awful and am so worried about the pain. I am really hoping the pain will settle down on its own again but its so hard trying to sit it out especially when I am trying so hard to study for my exam and I just want to curl up and dose myself up. Sorry this post is so long and has turned into a bit of a moan. Thankyou so much for everyone who has given me so much support. Take Care All and Best Wishes, Jacqui xxx
