Now Playing: Beautiful Times

Posted by MN~Sue Often they don't need to do anything about fibroids unless they become too large and symptomatic, I think. I am not qualified to give medical advice; hope you discuss the specifics with your doctor, but I will share some of my thoughts on what you asked. I don't belive enlarged ovaries are necessarily a risk. They can cause pain, however. If a cyst is an endometrial cyst (often referred to as a 'chocolate cyst' due to the darkened blood they contain that resembles a 'chocolate' color - not sure this chocoholic likes that comparison though, ewww, haha) that is of a different nature, as they can rupture, possibly twist the ovary, cause lots of pain, etc. My doctor said (as well as other documents I have read on the issue) that a ruptured cyst causes no 'serious' problem, stating that the contents are just reabsorbed by the body over time, that the greatest problem is the intense pain. However, when one has something like that occur, it can cause scarring, which are adhesions that can glue organs together, which I feel can cause problems and pain. That being said, the cysts caused by PCOS are not endometrial cysts. Dr. Albee's site has a good article on cysts: You said, "What does many follices are seen as weel clinical correlation advised?" I believe what that may be indicating is that they have seen many follicles on the scan, which without stating it in the US report, would indicate the possibility of PCOS and they are suggesting that possibile diagnosis be considered, depending on the clincal findings as well. 'Clinical' means what is determined by your doctors exam and your medical history/symptoms, so I would interpret 'clinical correlation' to mean if the clinical findings correlate with what is sean on the US represented by numerous follicles (PCOS). I hope I'm explaining this well enough to follow? You asked, "is their any risk to have ovaries that are bigger than 50 by 28 by 30." I would say no - but again, I'm not giving medical advice, just my thinking from what I have read and been told by my doctors. In terms of size, which is in regard to a cyst, not the entire ovary, it was stated to me by my doctors that when a cyst is over the size of 5 x 7 cm (which would translate to 50 x 70 mm), it should be surgically explored to determine it's cause (malignant [cancerous] or benign [non-cancerous]). As far as your uterus size that you stated, I can't really comment on that as I don't know enough about those dimensions. I hope this has helped some. Have you discussed these points with your doctor since posting this? What did you learn, if so? Take care, Jess. Love,
