I just recently have started to undergo Chiroractic care for my neck. I have been going to PT for about 3 weeks and it has helped alot to loosen the muscles. However, it has not done a great job and we found out the reason why. When I saw the chiropractor yesterday, I found out that have 4 Vertebral Subluxations. Two of them are located within my neck one in the upper neck on the spot that connects my neck to my shoulders, one between my shoulder blades and one in my lower back. The one in the lower back is in the area that I was injured in when I had my car accident in 2000, it has thrown it out all out of whack. This was the first time that I have been to a chiropractor and it was much better than I thought that it was going to be.
If you don't know what Vertebral Subluxations are, they occur in the spine when the bones of the spine ( Vertebrae) move out of their normal alignment and press on the delicate nerves that have to pass through small spaces between the bones. Any pressure upon these nerves can disrupt the flow of nerves supply and affect the function of that area of the body. These subluxations I believe are a result of the assault that I went through on the 11th of May. I have 5 more chiropractic sessions scheduled for now, but I noticed last night after my first session that my neck was tingling. The chiropractor, also said that the reason I have had the headache since the attack, is becuase the subluxation way up in my neck was pressing possibly on a nerve. He also noticed from just looking at me that my right hip is lower than my left and that my head tilts. I hope this chiropractic stuff helps! Has anyone out there ever been to the chiropractor? It did not hurt as much as I anticipated except for when he was adjusting my c7, and it hurt wicked because of how out of place it is.
I asked him about the subluxation in the back, if that could have any correlation to the nerves that are connected to my bladder and if that would explain my bladder function. He said that he is going to review the x-rays and we are going to discuss that and several other issues, when we go over the x-rays on Monday.I also have physical therapy twice a week to help stretch the muscles because they are very tight and my range of motion is limited from the attack. I will talk to the Physical Therapist tomorrow about whether or not I should continue seeing him, since I am now seeing a chiropractor.
I just got off the phone with the police Officer who responded to my house the night of the incident. Since the man who tried to break into my apartment and assaulted me died, the officer said that their was nothing that he could do. He also said that before the man died, the States's Attorney dropped the charges against him because the said that their was no intent for him to hurt me.Since I am having all of these problems related to the assault, I am calling two different agencies to try to help me pay for all of the medical bills that are associated with the assault. I have called a Crime Victim Services, and will also call a lady at the Victims Advocacy Services through that the States's Attorney tomorrow to see if I can get some financial assistance with the medical bills. Everything has been covered so far for my medical, except for the chiropractic things, and that is already expensive and with seeing him several times a week for adjustments it is going to be over $300.00 by the end of the week, and I have many appointments next week.
I am sorry that this is so long, I just needed to vent a little. I am so sick of all of this stuff, I have physical therapy four times a week. Twice for my pelvic floor and twice a week for my neck, then I have chiropratic appointments 3 times a week, then I have a pcp, obgyn or other appointment once a week. So I end up having an appointment every single day. So Needless to say I am a very busy person. Take Care
