Now Playing: Beautiful Times

Posted by Jacqui P I hope you are all ok as can be? Well I have had an eventful 24 hours! After feeling incredibly rotten yesterday with a uti and deciding to have a nice bath and an early night, I recieved a call from my friend Vicky at uni at 11pm to say.... "I am really sorry Jacq but there is water coming out from under your bedroom door and making the hallway carpet wet!" After Vick calling security and them getting into my room which was around 11.30pm/11.45pm (I am at my parents at the moment) I then had another call from Vicky to say.... "I am so sorry Jacq but I really think you should come back, its not good!" I was told that my room was flooded by 2-3 inches off water all over my bedroom floor at uni and that water was everywhere! I got out of my pyjamas, bunged some clothes on, packed a few bits and drove over to uni arriving there about 12.45am! Vicky and the maintenance man and moved alot of my stuff out of my room by that point into the corridor and the maintenance man had stopped the flood. Apparently a pipe under the sink burst! Vick and the maintenance man moved my matress from my room onto Vickys bedroom floor and I camped in there last night. We eventually went to bed about 3am! I got up this morning and phoned the people who are incharge of the uni accomadation. The lady came over and said there was only one room on that floor I could have. I wasnt happy about it as it meant moving to the other end of the corridor and the room was horrible, dont get me wrong, none of the rooms are particularly nice, they are about 30 years old and have had no work done on them in years and they are in the process of building new blocks of accomadation but this room she was suggesting I moved into looked like it had food over the walls! When Vick got back from her meeting she saw her upset I was and encouraged me to go and speak to the lady again about moving into one of the 3 rooms that were empty near my flooded room! The woman said I could go into another room and so eventually Vicky and my parents helped me to move into my new room which is just 2 doors down from my old room which is alot better and the decor is better and so all my stuff is now in my new room. After having a long discussion with the landlord, they have agreed to give me some compensation for some of my things that have been damaged by the flood! One thing I am really upset about is that alot of my notes and essays from couple of years at uni are absolutely soaked through! Not sure they can be saved! I came back to my parents and had a nice bath and put my pyjamas on. I am exhusted and not feeling great from this uti so am tucked up in bed. I have an essay due in on friday which I have been working really hard on. Had planned to work on it today, tomorrow and thursday to get it finished but as I have lost today due to having to move rooms at uni, I phoned the module leader who was lovely and has given me a 2 week extension. I will hopefully get it finished before then but takes a bit of pressure off me. Oooohhhh...isnt life fun at times!!! Just needed to have a rant! Take Care & lots of love, Jacqui xxx

Hi All,
They used some sort of machine to hoover up some of the water off the carpet in my room because it was just full off water.
Vicky was a star and helped loads and the maintenance was great too, he was so kind and had a great sense of humour which made a huge difference as he managed to get a few laughs out of me despite how upset, gutted & p*ssed off about what had happened to my room!
