Methadone for Pain Management

I am now going to Pain Management and they think that it would be a good idea to put me on methadone to help control the chronic pain that I am in. My question is do any of you have any experience with that drug, and if so can you help me decide whether or not to try this drug. They think that it will do better manageing my pain versus the dilaudid which does pretty much nothing becuase I have been on it for so long.I see her on Friday , so any responses before then would be great.
