HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE!!!
Bob and I have set a retirement date, that is if we both don't lose our jobs due to plant closing before that. We picked December 2008, not the date we wanted, we were aiming for March or April of 2008. If Bob is able to keep his job for that long, the company has a benefit that will pay him so much per month till he reaches the age of 62. We will be 61 when we retire and he can draw from the company for 9 months to get the benefit. With the cost of health insurance that is what keeping us from doing it now. It will cost us $10,000.00 for health insurance per year. We need to be wise about retirement, just because we want to doesn't mean it should be now.
