Thanks.. This would be the second time that I would have an ostomy.. I had one for 140 days in the beginning of the year. I would be interested in amy help that you can give me with the area of skin issues. I am allergic to all the bags, the adhesive on the bags, stomahesive paste, etc, and I also break out with candida yeast that goes all the way up my chest over the middle of my belly to my back and down towards my groin.. My ET nurse tried lots of things and was never able to figure out a solution to thes e problems.. Fiunally I had to change my bag daily because if I did not not only did it grow myore yeast, it would fall off my skin. They sent me to a dermnatologist who had me apply creams and take fluconazole 4 times a week while I had the OStomy.. She said the only way that I was going to ever get rid of the yeast ws to get rid of the ostomy. And sure enough once I got rid of the ostomy the yeast went away.
